Logging this forest may damage or destroy its conservation values just as it is about to transition to a more protected area.

phytopthora and

myrtle rust

is now adversely affecting our native forests and therefore this could mean that the recovery from logging is impossible; take note of some of the bunya trees (outside of the protection of a forest) that are dying on the road in to Maleny.

Global warming is a game changer as climate change is already adversely affecting tree growth and therefore the increasing need for habitat corridors and refuges for wildlife.

So we shouldn’t put further stress on old growth native forests!!!!
